Editor: The so-called Gunnison Outdoor Resources Protection Act (GORP) is being marketed as conservation, but for those of us who live and work here, it looks a lot more like control, restriction and economic harm.
Editor: Wow. What a March. Looking at all our high temperatures (Tmax) in March 2026, you would think we had a tectonic plate shift and we had been moved to Grand Junction.
Editor: The “No Kings” protests are being portrayed as spontaneous, grassroots movements. But when you take a closer look, the level of coordination, organized transportation, professionally printed signs and synchronized messaging raises a fair question: who is funding all of this?
Editor: I’m glad the Gunnison Country Times ran the Writers on the Range column last week by Wendy Keefover. I worked with her briefly on the Front Range and know that she’s very knowledgeable.
