Several days ago, I had the misfortune of viewing 21 year old Yussef Alwali tearing down the wooden cross from the Chadwell Heath Baptist Church in northeast London, England.
The above made me stop and think about why some people are so blinded by their hatred towards something or someone that it becomes an overwhelming obsession with them to remove it.
The former KGB major Stanislav Levchenko defected to the United States from the Soviet Union in 1979. Interestingly, the acronym M.I.C.E. is attributed to him (and others) as it relates to the "spy" operations against an adversary. The letter I'll allude to in this letter is the "I," which stands for Ideology, or useful assets who believe in "the cause," whatever it is.
The Greek philosopher Plato argued in his work The Republic that democracy fails because it lacks the necessary structure and wisdom to restrain the worst impulses of the populace. I will add that established religion can play a big part in shaping societies' restraint only if it's healthy within that society.
To the French philosopher Alexis de Tocqueville, democracy is a form of tyranny of the majority over the minority. Thus, the founders established our constitution with its Bill of Individual Rights to hopefully prevent it from becoming one.
Now we have two former democratic congressional staffers, one Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin, both far left extremists, calling for "abolishing the filibuster and expanding the Supreme Court will be vital to the future of our democracy." Who are they? The couple created We Are Indivisible, the 501(c)(4) non-profit and so-called progressive movement behind many (if not all) the protests against the current administration in Washington, D.C. and Republicans in general.
You may ask yourself if you haven't been quite blinded yet (figuratively speaking): How is silencing the 49% minority and swinging SCOTUS far left vital to the future of our democracy when it's not supposed to be a democracy? Good question to wake up by. Do we have yet another Maoist Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution brewing away on the range disguised as vital to saving our democracy? That I do not know, but, ironically, I do see a lot of hate on those signs out there protesting hate.
We recently lived through a small, but very bitter taste of our government incredibly suspending our rights during something called COVID and viewing the hypocrisy of our betters hamming it up in fancy restaurants and closed-to-the-public beauty salons.
Do you honestly believe that one side is better than the other if given complete power? What would you call a government such as that?
