Tina Brudzinski passed away unexpectedly at home from a pulmonary thromboembolism (a blood clot to both major arteries) on May 27, 2026.
Tina’s parents, Anneliese and Larry Jordan, moved from Germany to Colorado and Tina was born in Pueblo. They relocated soon after to Colorado Springs where Tina grew up. Tina graduated Coronado High School with honors, Pikes Peak Community College with honors and finally graduated from Western State College in 1993 Summa Cum Laude.
Tina married her first husband, David Brudzinski, and they started their life in Crested Butte and built their dream home. A few years after David and Tina separated, she would take telemark lessons from Mark Day on her lunch breaks at CBMR. They dated for six years and were married in September 2017.
Tina never wasted a minute of her more than 40 years living in the Gunnison Valley; enjoying the outdoors, hiking, camping, cross-country skiing, telemark skiing, music festivals, hot springs, an occasional round of golf, a little fishing, good food, friends and traveling with her husband, Mark, and COVID fur baby Olive.
Tina wore many other hats in the valley including: working at The Mt. Crested Butte Deli in the 1980’s, Title Searches for clients, Human Resources at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Alpine Express bookkeeping. She also volunteered for local non-profits including GVAWL and CFGV. Eventually, Tina went back to her roots and started her own business, Mountainside Bookkeeping and Consulting. In 1990, Tina took a job at Three Rivers Resort helping with everything from housekeeping to reservations and continued to help the Schumachers with bookkeeping for 36 years.
Her bookkeeping clients were also her best friends. She spent as much time catching up with them as doing their books. Tina was a follower of the Stoics and read many books on Stoicism. When she had to call the bookkeeping helplines to figure out a problem for her clients, she helped the helpline people figure out their job and then she left them a good review, as a good Stoic would do.
Tina is survived by her husband, Mark Day, and pup Olive M. Day, (also of German descent - a Bavarian Mountain Hound), David Brudzinski, Aunt & Uncle Rodney & Peggy Jordan, brother Michael Jordan and several cousins.
Tina lived her life with love and a passion for her friends, helping others, and learning. Her favorite non-profits were Hospice and Gunnison Valley Animal Welfare League (GVAWL). Donations in her honor are welcome.
A public celebration of Tina’s life will be held at Three Rivers Resort on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 3 p.m.
