On October 22, 2026, the Gunnison Police Department responded to a three vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of U.S. Highway 50 and Rio Grande  Avenue in Gunnison. The driver of the vehicle, Enoc Serrano-Sabas, 30, was arrested on charges  related to the unlawful possession of drugs and firearms and booked into the  Gunnison County Jail.

During the search warrant, and in addition to evidence recovered at the earlier  traffic collision investigation, officers recovered additional suspected illegal  drugs, cash, a firearm, and evidence consistent with drug distribution. Over  $11,000 in cash was seized.
