Sharon M. (Lee) Colson departed this life on Feb. 21, 2026, at her home in Gunnison.
She is survived by her husband, James Kevin Colson; son, John Daniel Colson; sister, Merle Jean Muller; and other surviving siblings, brother, Leslie; and sisters, Meredith, Robin, and Marianne.
During Sharon's life in Gunnison (having arrived in 1989), she gave of her special skills, talents and caring personality in many ways: first, as a registered nurse at Gunnison Valley Hospital; later, as a day care provider; and lastly, she created a home for "around-the-clock" long-term care for elderly women called "My Fair Ladies."
Many times, she would take on too much and try to do too much, but she would get it done in her own special way. To quote one of her favorite sayings, "Everything is on its way to somewhere. Everything." (Phenomenon).
She will be missed. A private gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
