The Gunnison High School Drama Club will present Story Theater by Paul Sills, a lively and imaginative theatrical production based on stories from the Brothers Grimm collection and Aesop’s Fables.
The play brings familiar fairy tales and fables to life through storytelling, humor, physical comedy and creative performances. Rather than relying on elaborate scenery and traditional theatrical effects, Story Theater puts the focus on the actors, their characters and the timeless stories themselves. Audiences can expect an entertaining evening filled with familiar characters, unexpected twists and lessons that have been passed down through generations. The play premiered in the late 1960s to rave reviews with the New York Times calling it, "unequivocally great."
