What happens when a community has a place to create, gather, perform, learn and belong?
At the Gunnison Arts Center, it looks like children discovering the stage, neighbors dancing at a free Sundays at 6 concert, local artists displaying work in a gallery, adults trying clay or painting, and community members of all ages connecting.
Serving more than 15,000 people annually, the GAC is more than an arts building; it is your Arts Center. From visual, ceramic and culinary arts to dance, theater and music, the GAC provides a platform for local artists. Its mission: Inspiring Creativity. Building Community.
Creativity matters. Research shows participating in the arts supports stress reduction, emotional expression, social connection and overall well-being. Gathering to make, experience and celebrate art is not simply fun; it is good for us, too.
This November, the community is invited to keep that creativity going by following the white rabbit to the GAC’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
“Mad for the Arts: A Mad Hatter Tea Party Gala” takes over the Arts Center Saturday, Nov. 14, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Expect an evening that gets curiouser and curiouser, with Bonnie Jeane spinning vinyl, a fire dance performance, Booth & Bloom’s photo booth, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, signature drinks, dancing and Wonderland surprises. Guests can also bid on packages in live and silent auctions. Tickets are $75 and include dinner, entertainment and photo booth access.
The event is generously sponsored by Gunnison Bank and Trust, and Gunnison Savings and Loan. Every ticket, bid and donation helps the GAC continue creating a vibrant arts community where everyone has a place at the table.
Grab your hat, bring your friends and celebrate your Arts Center. Tickets are on sale now. Don’t be late for this very important date!
The Gunnison Arts Center is part of the Gunnison Country Times Community Connect sponsored content program.
