Ashley Elizabeth Tomsic was born on June 14, 1984 in Pueblo and left this world on Feb. 20, 2026.
She was the daughter of William H. Tomsic, Jr. (Skip) and Jennifer Beth (Card) Tomsic; sister to Amra M. Tomsic, Adina M. August, and Arrion P. Tomsic, as well as mother to Jon (Cadence) Tomsic, Ski Lynn K. Clark and Quintion D.J. Clark.
She also leaves behind grandmother Elinda Card, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, and so many friends.
Ashley attended elementary school, junior high and high school in Gunnison and earned her GED at 16. She was a girl scout, took dance classes, gymnastics and sang in the middle school and high school choirs.
She attended two cosmetology trade schools and was always saying that she loved using those skills to give joy to others.
Ashley was beautiful, smart, witty, hard-headed, stubborn and strong willed. She could move mountains when she wanted to.
She loved her children and family with everything she had for as long as she could.
Ashley will be forever missed for her infectious laughter, her warm hugs, her radiant smiles, her playful energy and her strong belief in God, having been baptized as an adult. Sis loved music, glitter, chocolate-covered strawberries, coffee and red velvet cake.
In the words of her brother Amra: "My sister always had to fight against something in her that neither she, nor any of us could name, tame, or vanquish. We all feared the arrival of the day that it would eventually beat her, and could never have prepared for its coming. But it has."
Her loss has left behind a hole in our family that can only be filled with time and love and memories, but that may not be enough. We are thankful for the 42 years she was with us and will forever hold her dear and close in our hearts.
We are heartbroken, but heartbroken together.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 7, at 11 a.m. at the Community Church, 107 N. Iowa St. in Gunnison.
