Jerry Lynn Shaw is survived by an older sister, Eugenia (Shaw) Ditmore, and a younger brother, Dale E. Shaw, after departing this world on July 28, 2026, in Gunnison. Jerry passed at home from natural causes at the age of 82. She was born in Wichita, Kansas, on Sept. 27, 1943, moving to Gunnison with her family in 1947. Jerry attended Gunnison schools from kindergarten through high school, graduating in 1962. Jerry lived on the family ranch near Iola with her brother, sister and parents, Fred and Hattie Shaw, for many memorable years. Hattie and the three kids lived in town during the school year so the kids could attend school in their early years, often spending weekends and holidays at the ranch with Fred. It was necessary, at times, to ride into the ranch from the highway on a horse-drawn sleigh because of the deep snow.

Jerry attended Parks Business College in Denver after high school graduation. She found employment in Gunnison downtown businesses. She then became caregiver for Fred and Hattie in the family home that her dad helped build. After their passing, Jerry purchased that home and lived there until her death.

Jerry will be missed by her surviving family members: her sister, Eugenia (Floyd) Ditmore, Golden; their three daughters, Rhonda Ditmore, Debbie (Jim) Carr, their two daughters, Jessica (Lennart) Van Haaften, and their children, James, Ian and Torin, and sister to Jessica, Shannon Carr; Cami (Jonathan) Lind and their children, Katie and Theo Lind; Jerry’s brother, Dale (Barb) Shaw, Gunnison, their children, Jolene (Greg) Ashpaugh, their children, Bailey (Emily) Ashpaugh, Keira (Mark) Buley and their children (great-great-nephew to Jerry), Colton, and (great-great-niece) Avery; and Jerry’s nephew, Jake (Robyn) Shaw, Florissant. Jerry’s family has fond memories to share about her.

Jerry is at peace in the Gunnison Cemetery close to her parents after a simple private service in accordance with Jerry’s life.
