Terrie Garrett (born Terrie Wilson), born Oct. 16, 1962, in Gunnison, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 19, 2026, at her home in New Mexico, where she lived with her husband of more than 20 years, Froilan Patiño.
A Gunnison native, Terrie met and married Robert “Bob” Garrett, the love of her life. Bob preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1998. She is now reunited with Bob and her beloved parents in Heaven.
Terrie is survived by her husband, Froilan Patiño; her three daughters, Heather, Brandi, and Aly; and her brother, Donald “Donnie” Wilson. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Aiden, Avery, and Jiraiya; her sons-in-law, Nate Scavezze and Jamal Hill; and Brandi’s wife, Rebecca.
One of Terrie’s greatest joys was being Gigi to her beloved grandson, Jiraiya, her “little man.” He brought so much happiness to her life, and she was incredibly proud of him and his parents. The love they shared will forever be treasured.
She was a mother, a sister, a wife, a friend, and a grandmother whose absence leaves a hole in the hearts of so many. She will be remembered through the memories she leaves behind, the love of her family and friends, and the bonds that time can never erase.
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we take comfort in imagining her at peace, reunited with Bob and the family she has missed for so many years.
She was loved more than she knew, will be missed more than words can say, and will never be forgotten.
