Lorena Ellen Riddle Sherman was born May 15, 1935, to Simon and Ruth Riddle of Gibson City, Il. She passed away September 13, 2026, at the Gunnison Valley Senior Care Center.
On July 6, 1956, she married her husband of 65 years Allen Sherman, in Gibson City, Il. Out of this union three children were born, Michael Alan, Nancy Sue, and Wendy Mae. The family moved to Colorado Springs, Co, and continued to move to various town in the Colorado mountains. For over 45 years Al and Lorena owned and operated several service stations. Lorena dearly loved her children and watched them grow and succeed in life. She helped them out with all the activities they were involved in growing up and throughout their adult lives. She received great joy when her grandkids came along and loved being with them and learning new things along with them. Whether it was cowboys and Indians, rodeos and 4-H with her boys or dance recitals, horse shows and 4-H with her girls, Lorena was there.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, two sisters and one son in-law. She is survived by one brother Glenn Riddle (Marsha), of Gibson City, Il, her 3 children, Mike Sherman of Walsh, Co, Sue Mundell (Don) of Walsh, Co, and Wendy Irby of Gunnison, Co. Grandkids Jackson and Chester Irby, Justina and Kelly Mundell, along with various great grandkids, great-great grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews.
