Taste of the Wild is Saturday

The annual Taste of the Wild community event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Fred Field Center. The event is hosted by the Gunnison Wildlife Association. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online or at the door. Tickets for children ages 12 and under are $5.

The event celebrates wildlife conservation, local chefs and Colorado’s hunting heritage through a curated wild game tasting experience. Dishes are prepared by local chefs using ethically sourced wild game. This year marks the 4th annual Taste of the Wild and the first year the Gunnison Wildlife Association has taken on full planning and coordination of the event following Tina Haney of the CSU Extension Office's retirement. While the event was not a fundraiser in previous years, GWA is carrying it forward as a fundraising event, with proceeds supporting wildlife habitat and public lands initiatives throughout the Gunnison Basin.
