The Alpine Run/Walk is the opening event for the annual Pitkin Day festivities on July 25. It starts at 8 a.m. in front of the Silver Plume at Ninth and State Street in Pitkin. This is a timed two-mile and five-mile run. Everyone is welcome. Arrive early to register. No fee, certificates awarded to all, with a “Golden” Railroad Spike for first place.
