The second annual Kentucky Derby watch party is planned for 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at the Elks Lodge in Gunnison. The event is a fundraiser for the Lighthouse Pregnancy Center.

Last year’s inaugural event was a big success, with a large crowd gathering in the Elks Lodge while wearing southern attire, derby hats and drinking the traditional beverage of the event, mint juleps. There will be a best–dressed competition, a silent auction and more. It is sponsored by the Elks Lodge and the Knights of Columbus. The derby itself begins just before 5 p.m.
Tickets are $50 per person. A DJ will be playing music well into the night at the club, too.
