- The Denver and Rio Grande railroad are grating the road bed about two miles below the town of Gunnison. A large force of men and over a hundred teams are camped at this point.
- Both the Tumichi and Gunnison rivers are very high.
- During the last week Gunnison has experienced disagreeable weather - almost the first time since January.
- 7 men were fined by the courts for drunk and disorderly conduct this week, two men, Henry Brown and Wm. Fauton, were repeat offenders.
- It is reported that there are over one hundred passengers at different points between here and Poncha Springs, waiting transportation to Gunnison

- E.L. Miller, the horseman, is the happiest man in town this week. Tuesday his John Wilkes mare dropped the first standard bred colt ever born in Gunnison county. The colt stood ten hands high at birth and has a fine build.
- Fifteen thousand young eastern trout from our hatchery were turned loose in one of the mountain streams near Whitewater this week.
- A base ball team from the Pine School will be organized tomorrow and begin practical work soon under the captaincy of Clyde Martin. A match game is on the tapis with a school team from Salida.

- There is more room in the river for trout since the “sucker hunt” of last Sunday, when several tons of the latter were seined out, and there were probably a good many fish breakfasts served in Gunnison Monday morning.
- The Board of Trustees authorizes main hall completion at Western.
- Last Tuesday afternoon Mrs. Wm. Spann and Forest Ranger Carnahan managed to drive their cars together, the Spann car, a Nash, striking the Carnahan Ford square in the side. The incident occurred on upper Main street.
