“Trees: A Visual Narrative of our Enduring Relationship with Trees Throughout the Seasons”, a group art exhibition produced by the Rocky Mountain Botanical Society (RMBS), will open in the Western Colorado University Quigley Art Gallery this Thursday, Jan. 15.

RMBS is an artist collective dedicated to “increasing the appreciation for botanical art and illustration and to perpetuating its service to the preservation of native plants in the Rocky Mountain Region,” according to the group’s website. Artists associated with RMBS contributed work to the show in a variety of 2D mediums including charcoal, colored pencil and watercolor. The exhibition will officially open during the Western Art Department convocation on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. Several of the contributing RMBS artists will kick off the event with a short presentation in the Kincaid Music Hall before the vernissage in the gallery itself. “Trees” will be on display through the end of the month and the gallery is open to the public during regular business hours, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
