Fridays are taking on a new rhythm at Almont Resort this summer with the launch of Foot Stompin’ Fridays, a free weekly live music series designed to bring locals and visitors together to celebrate the start of the weekend.
Held from 5–7 p.m. every Friday at Almont Resort, located at 10209 State Highway 135 in Almont, the series pairs live performances with a happy hour from 3–6 p.m.
“Friday has always been one of the busiest and most fun days of the week around here,” Marketing Manager Michael DeFeo said. “We wanted to create a consistent weekly event that gives both locals and visitors a reason to gather, enjoy live music and kick off the weekend together.”
The series began June 5 and continues through Sept. 18. The lineup features local and regional musicians representing a wide range of Americana, bluegrass, country, folk and roots-inspired styles.
Upcoming performers include singer-songwriter Sam Kind on June 26; local favorite Jordan Brandenburg on July 3 and Aug. 21; and bluegrass musician Scott Stewart on July 10 and Aug. 7.
Other featured artists include Britley & Matt, Thomas Owen, The Black Canyon Ramblers, Opal Moon, Matt and Madeline Shugert, Rachel VanSlyke, Sugarbush and Dakoda Tagg.
Many of the performers are well known throughout the Gunnison Valley and broader Colorado music scene, bringing original songs, traditional influences and mountain-town storytelling to the Almont stage.
DeFeo said guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs if they want guaranteed seating, though the patio offers picnic tables and ample space to relax. Events will take place rain or shine, with performances moving indoors if weather requires.
All Foot Stompin’ Fridays events are free and open to the public.
Almont Resort is part of the Gunnison Country Times Community Connect sponsored content program.
