Fall guided hikes planned at Hartman Rocks

Posted

The San Juan Mountains Association (SJMA), in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management, is inviting community members and visitors to explore the outdoors through two special guided hikes at the Hartman Rocks Recreation Area this October.

The "Hartman Rocks Guided Hikes" will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3, and Saturday, Oct. 17. Both excursions are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Participants are instructed to meet at the Bambi’s Trailhead parking area, located off Gold Basin Road.

Designed to be both fun and educational, these fact-filled hikes offer a great opportunity to learn about the unique geology, ecology, and public lands of the area. The SJMA notes that the event is dog-friendly, though they politely request that all dogs be kept on a leash to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants.

Space may be limited, so attendees are encouraged to secure their spot in advance. Registration is currently open and can be completed online by visiting sjma.org/events.
