‘Creatives & Candidates’ brings Kelloff to Gunnison

"Creatives & Candidates" will take place at the Gunnison Arts Center on Thursday, March 26. Congressional candidate Alex Kelloff will participate in an open, non-fundraising community conversation from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in The BlackBox Theater. The event is free and open to the public.

Kelloff, a candidate for U.S. Congress in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, will participate as the first candidate in a planned series of events within Colorado’s Creative Districts leading up to the June primary and the Nov. 3 general election.

"Creatives & Candidates" is designed to create direct, in-person access between voters and candidates within Colorado’s Certified Creative Districts—geographic areas recognized by the state for their concentration of creative and cultural assets and their role in supporting local economic activity and community identity.

Creative Districts function as a place-based network across the state, presenting opportunities for engagement shaped by creative industries and local economies. In Colorado—where more than half of registered voters are unaffiliated, according to the Colorado Secretary of State— "Creatives & Candidates" events bring community members and candidates together in a creative setting to ask questions and engage in conversation. It also allows Creative Districts to demonstrate to candidates how vital creative industries are to local economies across the 3rd Congressional District and the importance of the policies and funding that support them.

The series is planned to expand across all 14 certified Creative Districts in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District. Of  Colorado’s 8 Congressional Districts and 37 certified Creative Districts statewide, more than one-third are located within the district.

Kelloff's career includes experience in investment banking, telecommunications and infrastructure development, working on large-scale projects and economic systems.
