Business Spotlight: Historic Almont Resort welcomes Grateful Dead tribute Easy Jim

The historic Almont Resort is preparing to transform into a hub of psychedelic rock and mountain rhythm as it hosts Easy Jim, a premier Grateful Dead tribute band, on Saturday, Feb. 28.

The six-piece ensemble, known for its authentic recreation of the Dead’s classic lineup, features two drummers and rich four-part vocal harmonies. Since forming in 2018, the group has built a reputation across the Gunnison Valley for adventurous improvisation, ensuring that no two performances are identical.

While the Easy Jim performance anchors the February calendar, the resort maintains a robust winter schedule. Weekly offerings include Thursday night trivia, billiards and darts, alongside the ticketed Snowdance Winter Concert Series.

Guests can also enjoy elevated dining at Bar 47, the resort’s on-site restaurant and bar, along with exclusive private river access for year-round fishing in a quieter stretch between Gunnison and Crested Butte.
