Business Spotlight: Almont Resort highlights event venues, dining and community experiences

Summer is right around the corner, and with that comes events season. Almont Resort has you covered with venues for any event with a mix of flexible spaces that work well for large celebrations and intimate gatherings.

The Grand Lawn features a covered tent that can host up to 385 guests in a natural setting for weddings, concerts and community-wide events. Bar 47 provides a relaxed, everyday atmosphere, with space for about 100 guests indoors and another 100 on the patio, ideal for social gatherings, smaller events or community programming.

Almont will soon be opening a new “living room” space with comfortable seating and a fireplace, a cozy and welcoming place to enjoy a morning coffee, catch up with a friend or simply slow down and relax.

They’re also launching Mule’s Ear Market and Bakery which will feature fresh-baked pastries, breakfast sandwiches, grandma-style pizza by the slice, deli sandwiches, soft serve ice cream plus a medley of beverages and local goods, led by in-house pastry chef, Lyndi.

Bar 47 will continue to serve dinner seven nights a week, opening at 3 p.m. for happy hour.

“What excites us most is the strong, community-focused rhythm we’re building,” said Rob Zack, director of operations.

“Weekly staples like Local Legends Mondays, softball league nights on Tuesdays, kids-eat-free Wednesdays, trivia Thursdays, Friday fish fries and Food Stompin’ Fridays with live bluegrass and country music and Saturday prime rib nights are all about creating fun, dependable traditions. Giving locals a reason to come back week after week.”

Zack said the team is thrilled about growing Almont into a distinctive riverside wedding destination, as well as expanding into an immersive farm to table dining experience.

“No matter the scale, the heart of everything we do is genuine hospitality,” Zack said.

“Whether someone is stopping in for a quick coffee or celebrating a once-in-a-lifetime moment, we want Almont to feel like it truly belongs to the Gunnison Valley.”

Almont Resort is part of the Gunnison Country Times sponsored content program called Spotlight.
