Three new faces have joined the team at the Gunnison Country Times. Katie Lewinger is a new account executive, Olivia Wilson is a new reporter and Jack Sellner is a sports reporter.
“We’re so excited and fortunate to have Katie, Olivia and Jack join our team in Gunnison ,” said O’Rourke Media Group owner Jim O’Rourke. “The Gunnison Country Times is an excellent, local community newspaper, one of the best in Colorado, and these staff additions are undoubtedly going to help us improve the product in print and online for readers and advertisers.”
Lewinger was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and moved to Gunnison in 2010.
When she’s not working or spending time with her daughter, Gus, she is busy in the community. Lewinger is the executive director of Crested Butte Snowsports Foundation, an area non-profit with the mission of getting all youths in the Gunnison Valley on the snow. She’s also involved with organizations such as the Rotary Club of Gunnison and the Gunnison Valley Humanity Posse. Lewinger can be reached at klewinger@orourkemediagroup.com.
Wilson grew up in Crested Butte, graduating from Crested Butte Secondary School in 2021. She played hockey and soccer for the Titans. She then attended the University of Vermont in Burlington, from which she graduated in 2024 with a degree in English and a concentration in writing. While in college, Wilson wrote for several community news organizations.
After graduation, she backpacked through Europe, then around Peru and Argentina in the fall.
Wilson returned to the Gunnison Valley in December and started at the Gunnison Country Times two days after her return. Wilson can be reached at owilson@orourkemediagroup.com.
Sellner will be adding to the sports coverage in the Times. He graduated from Wake Forest University in May 2025, during which time he covered the Wake Forest University baseball team for the Baseball Prospect Journal. He worked as a rafting guide in Buena Vista during the summers while in college and fell in love with the area.
He can be reached at jsellner@orourkemediagroup.com.
The new staff members join Bobbie Duft, who is the publication’s senior account executive in Gunnison. She works with many of the newspaper’s advertisers to provide print and digital advertising solutions. The O’Rourke Media Group team said it is moving as quickly as it can on recruiting a full-time office associate/sales assistant and an editor to round out the team. Interested candidates for either role can apply directly to owner Jim O’Rourke at jorourke@orourkemediagroup.com.
