Thanks for making derby watch party a success

It was off to the races the first Saturday of May for the second annual Kentucky Derby Watch Party hosted by Knights of Columbus and the Gunnison Elks Lodge. It was a wonderful evening of conversation, competition and celebration benefiting the Lighthouse Pregnancy Center.
Over 150 people arrived in their best derby attire and set their hat for the Best Dressed, Best Hat, and Most Creative Costume awards. Each attendee got a chance to win it big with an official 152nd Kentucky Derby glass and a bottle of Woodford Reserve Bourbon for the Pick the Winning Horse competition with prize winners selected from the win, place and show positions. The grand prize winner was also given a beautiful bouquet of roses, donated by Rocky Mountain Rose. Everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by Scott from Palisades Restaurant.

This event was an incredible success due to the outpouring of support from our community. Over $12,000 was raised for the Lighthouse Pregnancy Center. Every cent earned for the Lighthouse is poured back into families here in the valley.
The Knights of Columbus, Gunnison Elks Lodge, and especially the Lighthouse Pregnancy Center would like to thank the following businesses and individuals who greatly supported this event. A very heartfelt thank you to 3 Rivers Resort, Arrowhead Lodge, the Brian Cooper Team at Blue Bird Real Estate, Dan McKenna, Gunnison Community Banks of Colorado, Gunnison Valley Hospital, Greg Krupthaupt, John McKenna, Pike Builders, State Farm Chris Crown Agency, Tractor Supply Co., Taylor Park Marina, Wood Product Signs and of course the Gunnison Country Times.
We hope to see you all again next year.
Molly Siegert, RN
Executive director of the Lighthouse Pregnancy Center
