Tax Greed

The American dream of success was not built upon laziness! It was built by hard working men and women who wanted to achieve a more prosperous way of life! We are now over taxed by greed. Second home owners did not achieve second home status by economic stupidity! They earned their economics by progression and good stewardship of their money! They also earned their economic prosperity by attention to detail! We all have this. God given right under the constitution of the United States of America!

Our uniformed youth always vote for tax increases. A vote to increase tax in any way also causes their rent to increase accordingly! What part of stupidity don't they understand? Nothing is free except communist promises! Out of control taxation is a form of treason!

Why do we continue to vote and spend beyond our economic means ? Have you forgotten how to budget for success? Over the top taxation is just plain stupidity on steroids!

This proposed unequal taxation of second home owners, empty homes, and empty lots is communism! Don't expect property owners to fill your realty sack of greed!!!

These property owners can and will vote with their feet! We should not borrow any tax money to support a politician glazed over eyes for what they presume as a need! The working man does

not have a honey pot of back up money endlessly supplied by tax payers! People that can't screw in a light bulb should not be entrusted to formulate our taxation! Oh it's free the tax payer will provide ???

You are by your vote punishing second home owners, empty home owners, empty land owners; of their God given right and ability to be prosperous! This is unconstitutional!

Government never gives back power once taken away! Over taxation is a prime example!

You should be extremely thankful that these property owner folks have chosen the valley to share their economic values among us! We need these folks! If you chase out the second home owners, empty home owners, empty land owners with stupid unconstitutional taxation you as a town, county or city will absolutely lose! The taxation of unrealized value is a great hazard to the future of our liberty! The town council of Crested Butte does not possess any constitutional power or right to tax these empty land owners of property differently than any one else! Private property can not be taken for public use without just compensation! This city council is encouraging the seizure of private property for a tax! We as American people are under no obligation to surrender our freedom of property ownership to a bloated government!
