RMBL couldn’t do its work ‘without your support’

On behalf of everyone at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory (RMBL), thank you for making RMBL Fest 2026 such a memorable celebration. We are deeply grateful to be part of a community that embraces science, education, curiosity, discovery, and lifelong learning.

We are especially grateful to the nearly 200 community members who joined us at Family Fest in Gothic, including more than 75 children who participated in hands-on science, and to our scientists and educators who shared their passion for discovery. Thanks also to our partners at Irwin Brewing Co. for creating Marmot Tears IPA to help support our research and for hosting the beer’s launch. Seeing the Public House filled with neighbors, friends, and visitors celebrating local science alongside a local business was a wonderful reminder of what makes this valley so special.

A highlight of the week was seeing new faces. Many people visited RMBL or attended one of our events for the very first time. We hope everyone left with a deeper appreciation for the science and education happening here, in one of the best studied ecosystems in the world. RMBL Fest was just the beginning. We hope you’ll continue to join us throughout the summer at Sips & Science, Visitor Center programs such as wildflower and historic Gothic tours, and other community events.

For nearly 100 years, RMBL has been part of the fabric of the Gunnison Valley because of the people who believe in its mission. Our researchers, educators, students, volunteers, donors, neighbors, local businesses, and community partners have all helped shape RMBL into the institution it is today. We simply couldn't do this work without your support.
