Living Journeys celebrates a year of growth, partnership and impact

As 2025 comes to a close, Living Journeys extends heartfelt gratitude to the Gunnison Valley community. Your generosity continues to make essential cancer support services possible for local individuals and families.

Thanks to community support, 2025 was a year of meaningful growth, strong partnerships, and increased impact. Together, we reached new milestones and deepened our commitment to serving the valley we proudly call home.

This year, Living Journeys expanded its reach through collaboration and new initiatives, including:

• The launch of the Cancer Screening Access Fund, in partnership with Gunnison Valley Health and Gunnison Tough, helping make early cancer detection more affordable and accessible;
• $150,000 in financial assistance to help cover medical expenses, utilities, rent, and mortgages;
• 2,030 meals delivered directly to clients’ homes. Our partnership with Gunnison Country Food Pantry to supply our clients in treatment and recovery over 230 nutritious food boxes delivered right to their doorsteps; 
• 345 free therapy sessions for individuals and families and monthly support groups; 
• $15,000 in travel reimbursements for clients who needed to leave the valley for treatment.

In 2025, Living Journeys served 30% more clients while maintaining the same personalized, compassionate care for each individual and family. Programs continued to evolve to meet the changing needs of those impacted by cancer.

Our organization also strengthened its foundation by moving into a new downtown Crested Butte office, welcoming new staff and board members, and maintaining strong financial oversight. Community events and fundraising reached new levels of participation and visibility, helping sustain and grow services across the valley. 

Looking ahead, Living Journeys remains committed to transparency, local governance, and community-centered care. A new strategic plan will guide the organization through 2026 and beyond, with a focus on expanding access, strengthening connection, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
