Leadership means listening and planning for the future

Together we have spent years working with nonprofit organizations, serving on the Gunnison County Electric Association Board, helping local organizations develop long-term strategic plans, working as an ecologist, and being a volunteer firefighter, we've learned that good leadership isn't about having all the answers but about asking the right questions, listening carefully, and bringing people together to solve problems.

Those are the qualities my husband Dusty and I see in Alex Kelloff.

Colorado's 3rd District faces significant challenges, from affordability and housing to water, infrastructure, energy, and economic opportunity. These issues are too complex for slogans or partisan talking points. They require thoughtful leadership grounded in facts, collaboration, and a willingness to engage with people who may have different perspectives.

Over the past year, we have watched Alex build his campaign by listening first. He has invested his time meeting with local governments, business owners, agricultural producers, nonprofit leaders, labor organizations, and residents across the district. Rather than assuming he already knows the answers, he has sought input from the communities he hopes to represent.

That approach matters. The best public policy is developed by understanding local challenges and working together to find practical solutions. Whether serving on a cooperative board or in Congress, leadership is ultimately about stewardship and making decisions today that strengthen our communities for future generations.

Our district deserves someone who is prepared, engaged, and willing to do the hard work of governing. We believe Alex Kelloff has demonstrated those qualities throughout this campaign, and that is why we are proud to support him for Congress.
