Editor: The staff and board of directors at Gunnison Valley Mentors would like to say thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday, April 25, to participate in the 8th annual Legs, Kegs & Eggs Unsanctioned 5K.
It was a beautiful day, albeit a little breezy, and is always a fun community event in support of the work we do here at GVM. Thanks to you, we were able to raise a few thousand dollars for our programs, which will absolutely help us in forwarding our mission to promote the healthy growth of young people through one-to-one mentoring partnerships enhanced with enrichment opportunities.
We appreciate all 65 competitors who came to run, walk, bike, or whatever preferred form of movement you chose, and hope you all had a great time. We especially want to thank the event sponsors and everyone who contributed to the event.
Huge thanks to Kerry, Danny, Parker, and the incredible staff at The Dive and Mario's for putting on and hosting the event each year (and the bomber burritos). We cannot thank you all enough. Also, a monster thank you to Wick, Katie Lew and the Ibar Ranch for hosting the after-party every year, as well as all your support of GVM with everything over the years. You are true rock stars.
Additionally, we'd like to thank the following entities for their sponsorship and support: Out Cold Strength and Conditioning (always getting top-tier athletes to show up), DJ Mijo (for bringing the noise all day long), Zuni Street Brewing (for donating the post-race dehydration liquids), The Copper Owl Design Company (for all your help with the great t-shirts) and West Elk Equine (for bringing the beautiful four-legged friends for the kids to meet and ride). Finally, we want to thank our community, in general, for always showing up for Gunnison Valley Mentors. We are truly humbled and appreciative of our great community and cannot do what we do without such amazing support from you all.
