Elk Mountains Backcountry Alliance to meet Aug. 30

The community is invited to the Elk Mountains Backcountry Alliance (EMBA) annual meeting from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at the historic Train Depot, 716 Elk Ave., Crested Butte. Please join us for a warm evening of music, BBQ, potluck, great door prizes including a '26-'27 Nordic pass, and camaraderie with fellow backcountry enthusiasts.

Chris Ham, the deputy forest supervisor of the U.S. Forest Service Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison (GMUG) National Forests, will speak briefly on managing our public lands during these challenging times and how we might help.
