Lane Collins represented Moffat Middle School and the state of Colorado at the 2026 National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) Open and World Championships in Daytona Beach, FL, held in June.

Throughout the event, 3,681 competitors competed in the Bullseye and 3-D (animal-target) venues. Lane tied for first place in the Middle School Boys Bullseye Division with Eli Schleis from Gilman, Wisconsin, and finished 9th in the NASP National Open 3-D competition.

Earlier this season, Lane secured the titles of 2026 Colorado NASP Middle School Champion in both Bullseye and 3-D during the February tournaments.

In April, he placed 14th in Bullseye and 9th in 3-D at the NASP National Western Tournaments in Sandy, Utah, securing his berth at the National Open. Over 21,000 middle school boys from across the country and several territories competed throughout the season for a spot in this championship.

Coach Jack Sciacca notes: "This is Lane’s first year of competition. He picked up a bow for the first time in August and has progressed exponentially. His world championship scores are personal bests in both venues. My coaching philosophy is process-based, focusing on building a routine that blends cognitive, kinesthetic, and subconscious elements to minimize variation. Lane is extremely coachable, stays rooted in his routine, and rarely displays nervousness under pressure. It is an honor to be his coach."

Lane will begin high school in August, advancing to the high school division for the next season, where he plans to compete with his new championship trophy bow.
