Western State Colorado women's basketball team faced this dilemma this past summer and has been working hard during the offseason to put together a competitive roster.

“We have nine new players and seven are freshman,” said head coach Lora Westling. “So right now our expectations are to be competitive and see growth in what we are doing and get everyone bought in.”

Western Football — Western State Colorado University football fended off No. 17 Humboldt State University this past Saturday in Mountaineer Bowl but ultimately fell to the Lumberjacks 48-3.

Western (1-9, 1-8 RMAC) faced their first and only non-conference opponent of the season in Humboldt. Unfortunately for the Mountaineers, the Lumberjacks (8-1, 6-1 GNAC) brought with them one of the best offenses in Division II.
