GHS Softball — Start strong, and a strong finish.

The Gunnison High School (GHS) softball team accomplished the latter this past Friday in the squad’s final game of the season against the Alamosa Mean Moose.

GHS Cross Country — Hard work, and a lot of training. Gunnison High School (GHS) sophomore Aulea Rollins cites as much for the success she’s experienced this season. With five invitationals already in the books, Rollins has finished in the top 10 in all of them — with three top-five finishes.

Crested Butte Soccer — While it took double overtime to decide a matchup against Alamosa High School, the Crested Butte High School (CBHS) soccer team took care of business on Friday, defeating the Mean Rose 2-1.

More than 50 years ago, 22 swimmers came together as a part of Western Colorado University men’s swimming and diving team to make waves on the national scene. Out of the 22 swimmers, five teammates attended Western from the Hawaiian Islands.

The Gunnison High School (GHS) golf team stepped onto Dos Rios golf course Monday with hopes of winning the regional tournament. As a whole, GHS finished in fourth place with a score of 257. Ted Trujillo led the way for the Cowboys, shooting an 84.
