The world lost Robbi Stephenson, a beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend on Nov. 2, 2020 in Gunnison. Robbi battled cancer, but it never stopped her from being incredibly sweet, witty and courageous.
Roberta Lynn was born to Alice and William Keinath on July 24, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the baby of the family and from the time she was born everyone in the family called her “Doll!’ She lived up to that name by being the sweetest “doll” her entire life. She was pure compassion and an incredibly joyful and selfless woman.
Robbi and her treasured children, Rebekah and Joshua, visited Gunnison every summer for many years. In 1999, the family moved to Gunnison permanently.
Robbi worked as a care manager at the Center for Mental Health in Gunnison for almost 20 years. She loved her work, and she loved how much she could help others within the capacity of her job. Her clients and the people she worked with were very important to her. She had a reputation for amazing client rapport, empathy, compassion, active listening, organization, record keeping, strong ethics and a desire to help her fellow human beings.
Her family, friends, colleagues and clients knew her as a kind and fun loving soul with a wonderful sense of humor and clever wit.
Robbi is survived by her beloved children Rebekah and Joshua Stephenson who made up the entirety of her world; sisters Patti Kruthaupt (Greg) and Marcy Wakeman (Richard); nieces Kelli Parker (Bill), Coleen Kruthaupt, Amy Wakeman, Kristen Furbee (Matt); nephews Marc Wakeman, Chris Kruthaupt, Jesse Kruthaupt (Laura), and Ryan Kruthaupt (Gerilyn), the late Scott Kruthaupt, and many greatnieces and nephews.
Sweet Robbi, we love you and you will be greatly missed.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
The rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Causes that were important to Robbi include GVAWL, St. Jude, Susan G. Komen, and the Gunnison Valley Home Health, so in place of flowers please donate to one of these organizations.
A Celebration of Life is planned for June 2021.
