Last week’s full moon over the Gunnison Valley was “fiery” in more ways than one. The moon exhibited an orange hue as it crossed the sky, the cause of which was smoke from wildfires to the northwest.

Beating the heat

Gunnison Valley trail runners posted high finishes this past Saturday in the San Juan Solstice 50-mile run, which started and ended in Lake City. Heat plagued racers for much of the day.
