A recent meeting of elected officials designed to solicit input on the City of Gunnison’s comprehensive plan revealed much more than just issues related to affordable housing and economic development.
Tensions which have been building between north and south valley leaders finally boiled over in a manner which surprised many who attended, most notably in an exchange between the Gunnison County manager and the mayor of Crested Butte.
Some would point to this to further drive a wedge between the north and south valley. We choose not to focus on a squabble between a mayor and a manager, but to look at the bigger picture.
