In the first Gunnison City Council election held in November, an incumbent and two newcomers were chosen as top vote getters in Tuesday’s race.

According to unofficial results, Councilwoman Mallory Logan, and Gunnison residents Diego Plata and Boe Freeburn received the highest vote totals among the slate of five candidates. As the highest recipients of votes, Logan (1,104) and Plata (775) will serve four-year terms, while Freeburn (688) will serve for two years.

Challengers Steve Schechter (551) and Josh Lambert (333) were not elected.
