CBHS Soccer — Defending a state championship title is easier said than done. As soon as team members hoist the trophy above their heads and celebrates with fans, every team on their schedule the following season sets sights on taking them down.
While the Crested Butte High School (CBHS) boys soccer team had another successful season this year — finishing with an overall record of 10-4-2 — it came to a halt on Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Colorado High School Activities Association 2A state quarterfinals.
“The season had its struggles, successes and the stress of a ‘repeat title’ hanging over our heads all season,” said head coach Than Acuff. “While we fell short of that, and preseason goals at the state tournament, 10-4-2 is still a pretty darn good season and I feel like there were some great moments that will be worth remembering for sure.”
