GHS Volleyball — It may only be six games into the Gunnison High School (GHS) volleyball team’s season. Yet, they are looking like the team to beat after another impressive performance this past Saturday in their home tournament.
The 4-2 Cowboys defeated Salida (25-8 and 25-18) and Norwood (25-10 and 25-19), before falling to Delta in three sets (25-20, 12-25 and 10-15). In the playoff round, the Cowboys responded, defeating Olathe in two sets (25-22 and 25-18) and earning third place in tournament play.
“This weekend, we as a team came closer together. We know what we need to work on and what to capitalize on,” said Shaylee Mangum. “We all have the same end goal each time we step into the gym, and this weekend proved that.”
