On Friday, June 5, Thomas Kent Hill while being admitted to Loma Linda, Murietta Hospital passed away due to a heart attack.

Of English/Italian descent, Tom was born in Gunnison, Colo., on Jan. 31, 1951. He was the son of Charles W. and Margaret Hill and the brother of Charles F. and Julie (Hill) Sherburne. The family moved to Los Angeles when Tom was eight years old and settled in Alhambra, Calif. Tom attended Alhambra High school and played freshman football. He made many lifelong friends during his high school years. During his sophomore year he was in a near fatal car accident from which he recovered.

After graduating from Alhambra High School, Tom returned to Gunnison to attend Western State College. After college, he was responsible for businesses in the construction and wine industries, sold real estate and most recently rec reation vehicles in Murietta, Calif., where he and his wife and partner of 33 years, Jodi Madrid Hill, had settled. Tom was known for his love of sports, especially golf, surfing, and had encyclopedic knowledge of automobiles and wines.

Tom is survived by his immediate family members including his 95-year-old mother, Margaret, Jodi and siblings Charles F and Julie, plus numerous nephews and nieces, cousins and in-laws.

Tom’s never-ending loving, compassionate and cheerful spirit, his sense of fun and adventure, his faith, humor and vitality and ability to find the positive in any situation will be greatly missed.
