Like a lot of people these days, I’ve been diving into spring cleaning during the pandemic. I had the time. Especially since I was in the same boat as about a million other Americans — out of work and looking for something to stay busy. So it’s been a lot of reorganizing, dusting, and deciding which old memories to toss out and what’s worth keeping. Just this weekend I dug up a box of old writing, journals and the like dating back to when I was a teen. As I casually flipped though some of the pages, one portion struck me. Right in the middle of the page in big bold letters read, “Whatever you do — don’t ever move back to this town!” Since I’m a staff writer at the Gunnison Country Times now, I had a good laugh. Life is weird.
