Savannah Tice’s duties were split this past weekend between serving as an assistant coach for the Gunnison Stingrays while at the same time striving to post gains in the pool herself. Tice, fellow Western Colorado University swimmer Kali Stier and Michael Riser — all three Stingrays — traveled to Thornton to compete in the senior long-course state championship meet.

Tice led the way for the Stingrays, finishing in second place in the 100 back, with a time of 1:06.09 — dropping 2.66 off her previous best time.
