Changes that follow elections are sometimes difficult for all involved. However, we would hope that elected officials new to office and those already seated would allow for open lines of communication in hopes of best serving the public.
On that note, the relationship between the new sheriff and other county leaders could have started on a more positive note this week. After being officially seated last week, Sheriff John Gallowich has made bold moves, though not necessarily in a collaborative manner.
We understand the sheriff is probably extremely busy getting up to speed, but thus far diplomacy seems to be lacking in his approach to carrying out desired change.
