Following a recent effort aimed at gathering community feedback, Gunnison County Library District has landed on a location for a new or expanded facility on property it owns on the north side of the city.

The district has identified the 5.32-acre Van Tuyl parcel — located north of Gunnison Community School and acquired as a gift from late Gunnison rancher Ray Van Tuyl — as the the most suitable site.
