Robert E. Miller, age 86, passed away at his home in Conroe, Texas surrounded by his family on Friday, Feb. 9.
He was born on July 1, 1931 in Pueblo, Colo., to Eugene Phau and Bessie Winnona (Frank) Miller. He served in the United States Air Force as a lieutenant navigator/bombardier during the Korean war. On Feb. 18, 1955, he married Virginia Maureen Chenault. Robert graduated in 1959 from the Colorado School of Mines with a degree in Geological Engineering.
He is survived in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Virginia (Renie); their four children: Jon Miller, Deborah Miller, Rebecca (Dale) Steven, and Gregory (Jessie) Miller; four grandchildren: Jennifer (Scott) Frazier, Charlie (Emily) Boyd, Garrett Miller, and Maija Miller; five great-grandchildren: Cole, Dylan and Lydia Frazier, and Lincoln and Quincy Boyd; brothers: Douglas (Sandra) Miller and Kipley (Sylvia) Miller; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charles and Scott and sister Suzanne. Robert will be remembered as a family man, a bright and shining star that lit up the lives of many, and a kind, loving and generous man.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E. White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas, 77304.
