Improvement seen in multiple categories

High school graduation rates at the state level are at a seven-year high. However, even better news may be found right here in the Gunnison Valley.

Graduation rates locally far exceed statewide averages and are following Colorado's improving trend.

Based on figures released last Thursday, Gunnison Watershed RE1J School District's four-year graduation rate was 95.1 percent last year — an increase from 94.7 in 2016. Crested Butte Community School's (CBCS) rate was slightly higher than Gunnison High School (GHS). CBCS had a 95.3 percent graduation rate last year, compared to GHS' 94.9 percent.
