Thus far, two government partners have approved allowing the Gunnison Valley Regional Housing Authority (GVRHA) to pursue a property tax increase on this November’s ballot — for the second time in two years.

The GVRHA board voted unanimously last Wednesday to approve a resolution with ballot language which asks voters for a 1.5 mill property tax increase which would sunset in 10 years, at which time it would be reduced to one-half mill. The increase is expected to generate $880,000 in revenue annually.
