Neva Mae (Paine) Cummings, 98, died on Feb. 24 in Sacramento, Calif.
She was born Oct. 24, 1921 and raised in Enid, Okla. She married Donald J. Cummings also of Oklahoma. They moved to New Mexico where they raised one daughter (Judy) and one son (Robert). Neva and her husband started a construction supply business there, too.
When they retired, they moved to Gunnison, Colo., where they enjoyed snow sports and golf. Neva was active in the Gunnison Community Church and Dos Rios Golf Club. The last seven years of her life, she lived in Sacramento, Calif., close to her children and their spouses (Warren and Eileen) and extended families.
A celebration of Neva’s life is being planned as a family reunion in Oklahoma where her ashes will be placed with those of her husband. If you wish to make a commemorative contribution to honor Neva, please consider the Humane Society (humanesociety.org), Boys Home (boystown.org), or Gunnison Community Church (107 N. Iowa St., Gunnison, CO, 81230). She supported these organizations while she lived, and would be pleased to be honored this way.
