Gunnison’s ample supply of flowering crabapple trees are usually in full bloom by Memorial Day weekend, lining Main Street and front yards with cheerful petals of pink and white.
Not this spring, the year in which winter just won’t go away.
I’m used to having to occasionally fire up the woodstove in April, even May, to knock the chill out of the house. Lately, though, it’s been blazing nearly non-stop, dwindling my woodpile down to furniture row.
