Formerly, Marlene resided in Kailua, Hawaii on the island of Oahu. Marlene’s cheerful and sassy upbeat attitude was sure to put a smile on the faces of those who loved her! Marlene Harvie was originally born in British Columbia, Canada in 1935, but moved to the island of Oahu in the ‘50s. There, she met her husband, Gerald Goring. Together they raised their four children. Marlene moved to Gunnison in 1986 and is best known for her steadfast dedication and love in raising her two grandsons, Kilioi and Kalae, after the tragic death of her daughter, Robyn. After raising all of her children, she placed that same love into her animals Laverne and Shirley, and Chowie. Her son, Kevin, also a long time resident of Gunnison, cared for her in her home until her death. Marlene’s feisty fun loving, joyful and humorous nature will be missed!

Marlene Goring’s remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. on Aug. 1, 2020 at her residence.
