Marian Neoma Sievers, age 91, died peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 12 in Gunnison, Colo. Marian was born on Oct. 2, 1928 in Tulsa, Okla., to Almeta and John Holman. She came to Gunnison at the age of 17 where she met and fell in love with a local boy, Robert “Si” Sievers. They were married on July 20, 1947 and raised four children here in Gunnison: John, Trudy, Judy and LuAnna.
Marian was a homemaker most of her years while raising her children. She also worked at Fleetwood Drug Store, worked at and helped manage several motels, and worked at French Electric Cleaners.
She was a great cook, loved to sew, sewing all three of her daughters wedding dresses. She enjoyed doing crafts, knitting and crocheting. Arrowhead hunting, working in her yard and family picnics were some of her favorite times. Marian loved spending time and playing Yahtzee with her grandchildren. She was a cub scout leader, active in the VFW Auxiliary and an avid bowler, serving as President in several organizations.
Marian is preceded in death by her late husband, “Si”, her son John, who died in Vietnam 1970, her parents, and brother Donald.
She is survived by her daughters Trudy Moores (Allen) of Gunnison, Colo.; Judy Foster of Grand Junction, Colo.; and LuAnna Bryant (Craig) of Gunnison, Colo. She is also survived by her three grandchildren Teresa Foster, Joshua Moores, and Colton Bryant.
